  • Hancock Canned Food Drive – April 24 – 28th

Student Council will be collecting canned food to benefit the Chandler Care Center.  The Chandler Care Center provides food and other services to families in our district that are in need of help. The last few years we have collected 1500 cans!!  The CCC is always very appreciative of our large donation in May because the summer is a high demand time.  Let’s show them how much Hancock cares.

  • Hancock’s accelerated 6th graders completed a STEM challenge building the Great Wall of China out of marshmallows structures (cubes, square pyramids, pentagonal pyramids, etc). The students worked in pairs, each with 200 toothpicks and 200 marshmallows. Some of their walls could even hold a textbook!

  • The CUSD administration and Governing Board presented the annual “state of the district” message to community leaders on January 25 in the Governing Board Room. The annual report provides an overview of the district, academic performance, recognition of students and staff, budget information and an update on expenditures from bond elections.

  • The Hancock Student Council continues to promote kindness at our school by sponsoring a Dude Be Nice assembly.  Brent Camalich, the president of DBN, spoke to the students about the importance of doing small acts of kindness every day.  The Dude Be Nice shirts are an outward reminder that being nice is our daily mission at Hancock.  Former San Francisco 49ers player, Adam Synder, also participated in the assembly.
