    Life Connections
    Goal: recognize the difference between a want and a need

    I. Bellwork
     
    II. After bellwork,  students wrote out on post-it notes all the things they cannot live without.
     
    III.  Students were broken up into three groups each with a different article.  In groups, they read the articles and then came up with the following things:
    •     The definition of a need
    •     The definition of a want
    •     Examples of each
    After 15 minutes the groups shared out what they had learned.  Then students took the post-it notes they had written out earlier and then classified them as either a want or a need.  A class discussion was had about wants and needs and about under what circumstances those may change.
     
    IV.  To-Do and Weekly Calendar:  Students wrote out everything they have to do and finish in the next week and half.  Students completed the following steps to help get themselves organized and to help manage their time.

    •      Write out EVERYTHING that you NEED and WANT to do before break starts next Friday.
    •     Use either A,B,or C to mark the priority level with A being the most important.  You can also use 1,2,3 in the same            way.
    •     Fill in your weekly calendar to reflect where you need to spend your time.  MAKE THIS SPECIFIC! Be sure to include due dates and test dates and exactly when you will give some of your time to that.

    Homework:  Finish filling out your weekly calender... then get started on some of those assignments and projects!

    I. Verb Mastery Quiz 61-70.  If you were absent please make this up.
     
    II. Caballeros-  Students played a game where they had to find the vocabulary word before their partner.
     
    III. Intro to Demonstratives-  Students took notes on demonstratives by filling in notes that accompanied a PowerPoint given by Senorita Michaelson.  If you were absent please get the notes from the absent work try and copy the notes from a peer.
     
    IV. Destinos 6-  Students write down all the details that they understood.  AT LEAST 7 sentences should be written in Spanish.  Remember you can find the Destinos link on my website!

    Meta/ Goal: write sentences with correct noun-adjective agreement.

    II. Thinking Map-  Students first filled in a thinking map by writing down adjectives that described certain people.  They had to be sure to have correct adjective agreement.
     
    III. Mis Personas Pequenas Project-  Students created mini people and wrote sentences in Spanish about them.  Students then glued their people and scenes onto a kleenex box.
     
    Tarea/Homework: Finish the Mis Personas Pequenas project. due 9/15

    Goal: explore interests, possible college and job opportunities
     
    Today we spent the class period in the library where Mrs. Speciale introduced student to the Kuder program.  Students created profiles on Kuder and took some interest surveys.  Students learned what they may be good at and what types of jobs would fit those interests.  Students were able to explore different job opportunities and skills that would be needed for those jobs. 
     
    Homework: Be working on your personal Mission Statement DUE 9/15

    II. Definite and Indefinite articles review-  Students were given a sheet where they had to fill in the correct article based on the noun they were give. 
     
    III. U1L2 Vocab and Articles Quiz. If you were absent you need to schedule to make this up.
     
    IV. Intro to Noun- Adjective Agreement- Students completed noted as Mrs. Michaelson presented the topic from a PowerPoint.  Along with notes there were a few practice activities.
