Susan Avey holds a BAE from ASU and an ME in Educational Leadership from NAU; she has been an educator for more than thirty years. An original member of BJHS, Miss Avey has vast knowledge of the school's history, traditions, and growth of the surrounding community. Bogle has been Miss Avey’s professional home since 1992; she has served as teacher, dean of students, and assistant principal prior to being named principal in 2006-07. In 2009 she was recognized by the Chandler Chamber of Commerce as CUSD's Administrator of the Year. One of the few remaining original BJHS staff members, Miss Avey has a vast knowledge of the school’s history, traditions, and growth of the surrounding community. An avid artist/cartoonist, Miss Avey enjoys drawing and custom-painting kids furniture in her spare time. In addition to a passion for reading, she loves going to the beach, traveling with friends, and exploring foreign countries by bicycle. Miss Avey finds that junior high students are the most interesting, energetic, and enthusiastic people around. Their passion for life invigorates everyone around them and helps to keep her feeling young!
