Kindergarten Registration
Registration for 2012-2013 kindergarten begins February 1, 2012. Children who turn age 5 by August 31, 2012 are eligible for kindergarten. Register at your neighborhood elementary school and bring:
Proof of residency (such as a current utility bill)
Immunization record
Birth certificate
Emergency contact numbers

Preschool Program
The Chandler Unified School District has received $320,000 through the First Things First program to provide scholarship opportunities for its preschool program. The district is accepting applications for youngsters who meet the following criteria:
1. Child lives within the Chandler Unified School District boundaries.
2. Family meets federal free and reduced lunch guidelines
3. Child is 4 years of age by August 31.
Seats at Hartford Sylvia Encinas, Haley, Hancock, Humphrey and Riggs elementary schools as well as a limited number for private community preschool providers will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Families who are interested in the scholarship program are asked to contact the CUSD early childhood program office at 224-3913.
Journey 2020
The Governing Board on August 11 approved a plan called "Journey 2020." The commitment is to ensure that CUSD is a District of choice, defined by academic excellence for students, an outstanding staff, establishing a culture of success and ensuring that our resources are effectively managed.
