My name is Martha Carrasco and I am the Parent Liaison/Trainer at San Marcos Elementary School. I am proud to be a part of the San Marcos family. I serve as the bridge between our school, community and home. I work as part of the team to ensure your child's academic success.
Where Can You Find Me?
Parents can find me at the San Marcos Parent Center, located in the M-1 portable at the southeast corner of the San Marcos campus. My work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. My phone number is (480) 883-4263 and my e-mail is Carrasco.Martha@cusd80.com.
I am honored to be able to assist and help families with the following services:
Providing one free uniform for each student every year.
Providing community information and referrals.
Translating/interpreting for conferences, meetings, parent letters, etc.
Coordinating opportunities for parents to meet other San Marcos parents.
Being the liaison between school, teacher and parents, as needed.
Conducting home visits to support communications between home and school.
Coordinating parent volunteer work for teachers.
Supporting PTO by attending meetings and assisting with activities.
Assisting with computer usage. There are 3 computers for parents to use in the Parent Center.
I offer the following free Parent Workshops for all parents:
I'd like to provide more opportunities for parents to get involved in the Parent Center and in our school. I hope to do this by offering more classes that are of interest and beneficial to our parents.
I want parents to feel comfortable spending time in the Parent Center and to have a sense of ownership; to feel that they are an important part of the San Marcos Community.
The San Marcos Parent Center is an extraordinary privilege and one that parents should fully enjoy. It is an opportunity for them to participate in their child's education by learning about the school, meeting other parents, and getting to know the San Marcos staff. Students whose parents are involved in the educational process inevitably experience stronger success in school. The San Marcos Parent Center helps to provide a way for parents to “come to school” too.
