The Chandler CARE Center is a school-based, community-linked program of the Chandler Unified School District.  Established 15 years ago, the Chandler CARE Center provides free medical, dental, counseling, and social services.  There is no cost to patients or clients because local professionals and service organizations donate their services at the Chandler CARE Center on a scheduled, rotating basis.

 

To promote students’ school readiness, attendance, and academic success, the Chandler CARE Center:

  • Improves and maintains the physical health of needy, uninsured Chandler youth, birth through 18 years of age, by providing free acute-care medical treatment, well-child check-ups, and TB skin tests as well as needed prescriptions, medical lab tests, and medical imaging
  • Improves and maintains the dental health of uninsured Chandler children by providing free dental screenings, dental cleanings, and fluoride varnish treatment for uninsured children.  Restorative care will begin in May 2010.
  • Increases the number of children, birth through 18 years of age, who are up-to-date on immunizations by providing free immunization clinics 
  • Provides access to free mental health services for uninsured Chandler children as well as the people with whom they reside
  • Increases effective parenting skills by providing adult-education classes 
  • Distributes donated food and clothing to needy Chandler families

 

In addition to its regular services, the Chandler CARE Center sponsors a free “back-to-basics” Family Assistance Day in November, December, and February to provide additional opportunities for needy families to get healthcare, food, and household necessities.

 

The Chandler CARE Center serves more than 20,000 individuals annually through the generosity of its many community partners.
