Arizona Spirit Week February 13-17

Santan is holding Arizona Spirit Week from February 13-17! Help us celebrate Arizona's 100th birthday by dressing up on the following spirit days:

Monday, February 13 - Pioneer/Cowboy Day
Tuesday, February 14 - Red, White and Blue Day
Wednesday, February 15 - Arizona Sports Day (wear a jersey or t-shirt from your favorite Arizona sports team)
Thursday, February 16 - 5 C Day (pay tribute to copper, citrus, cattle, cotton, or climate)
Friday, February 17 - Santan/Team Spirit Day

Parent Conferences on Tuesday, February 7

We hope that all of our parents will attend parent conferences on Tuesday, February 7! From 12:00-4:00 p.m., individual parent conferences will be held by teacher invitation only (if you would like to request a scheduled conference, please contact your students' teachers). From 6:00-7:00 p.m., student-led conferences will be held in all classrooms so students can show their parents what they have learned and created this year! From 6:30-7:00 p.m., the Science Fair winners will be announced in the Café, where Science Fair projects will also be displayed. For more information, please download this flyer. Safety Website, Seminars Available

The Arizona Department of Education is providing a website resource to our parents at www.azed.gov/prevention-programs/resources. This website contains valuable information and resources for our parents and families on topics such as Friendship, Dating, and Love; Helping Your Child Through Adolescence; and Ready, Set, Listen!

Additionally, the Department of Education, will sponsor an informative parent meeting with a skilled facilitator to meet with a group of approximately 20 parents to discuss issues and provide information, with the goal of increasing parent-child communication. Parents who attend the meeting receive resource kits containing books, DVDs and brochures on relevant topics. CEF Car Raffle Supports Santan

The Chandler Education Foundation is once again holding a raffle for a brand new car! The winner of the raffle can choose between a 2012 Camry SE or a 2012 Tacoma 4x2. Tickets are $20 apiece, and can be purchased online ... but when you buy your ticket from the Santan JHS administrative office, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Santan directly! You can purchase tickets at Santan through Wednesday, March 7, and the drawing will be held on Saturday, March 17 at Chandler Fashion Center (you can buy raffle tickets at Chandler Fashion Center up to a half hour before the drawing).
