Last May Megan Jeffers, Melissa Stanley, and Sarah Winzeler from SJHS were selected to be part of a Writing Jam in Washington DC through the Achieve organization. Chosen out of many applicants across the nation, their goal was to write an Algebra 1 unit on functions, as there were no lessons rated exemplary available that addressed these standards. After writing and revising their lesson throughout the summer, the lesson was submitted to Achieve and evaluated using the EQuIP rubric. This month Megan, Melissa, and Sarah were informed that their lesson was selected as exemplary. The lesson will be published and available online as an open education resource for Algebra 1 Teachers to use with their students. Congratulations, Stormers!
Please click on this link to see the schedule for semester finals. Comprehensive finals will be given at the end of each semester. Finals will be averaged into the students’ grade at the end of the semester with a 10% weight. If students are absent for their finasl, they will have a choice to take them at specified times upon their return. If a student chooses not to make up the examination once missed, it will be counted as a zero. Once the final has been made up, the new grade will be reflected in Infinite Campus.
SRP's Support for Education team visited Santan to see how Mrs. Olson's Project Lead the Way classes work.
To ensure all students' safety, please note the following changes to Santan's flow of traffic for student drop off/pick up. Both Elementary and Jr. High students are to be dropped off and picked up in the west parking lot by the schools' front offices. Please pull past the crosswalk and wait to drop off/pick up your children on the north side of the crosswalk. Do not drop off/pick up your child on the south side of the crosswalk before you reach the crossing guard. Also, the horseshoe bus parking lot on the southeast side of the school is for school buses only, even when there are no school buses there. Students who participate in before and after school events should be dropped off and picked up in the west parking lot, not the bus parking lot. Thank you for helping us keep our students safe.
Dear Santan Parents and Guardians, thank you for your feedback on our school survey! Please click here to view the results of the Parent Survey from May.
AzMERIT Reports for state testing will be sent home the week of November 16. Current 8th grade students' results will be sent home with students. Current 7th grade students's results will be mailed from their former elementary school. Last year’s 8th grade students, who are now 9th graders, will have their reports mailed home, too.
This year ALL extracurricular activity fees paid will be considered a tax credit contribution that you will be able to utilize on your taxes. Here is a Quick Guide for how to make a payment on Infinite Campus.
CUSD will be going paperless this year! Progress reports and report cards can be printed from the portal. Each parent is encouraged to activate their account at the start of the school year to ensure that they are well informed of student progress. All school sites have a parent portal manager should you require set-up assistance or have further questions. Portal accounts will allow parents to check their child's academic progress at any time during the school year. Please visit this link to set up your parent portal account.
